On Sunday, 27 September, we inaugurated PYSETH’s new Operations Center (KEPIX), in the presence of friends, partners and representatives of local organizations and authorities.
A vision became reality thanks to the generous sponsorship of Humanity Greece, founded and chaired by Georgia Paraschou, and of Bardos Wood, who donated the new Isobox.
Once again, Humanity Greece showed that solidarity means action, supporting volunteers in a real way and creating the conditions for more effective protection of our community.
We were honored by the presence of:
Vasilis Oikonomou, Member of Parliament (New Democracy) for East Attica; Polychronis Bairaktaris, Deputy Regional Governor for Civil Protection; Evangelos Kyparissis, Deputy Mayor for Civil Protection of Marathon; Maria Spanou, Deputy Mayor for Education and KDAP; Manolis Georgatos, Deputy Mayor for Education; Konstantinos Laskos, Deputy Mayor for Spatial Planning; Major General Vikentios Marinakis, Attica Coordinator of the Fire Service; Fire Colonel Dimitrios Batalis of the Fire Service Headquarters; Konstantinos Skylaris, Commander of the Nea Makri Fire Station; Fotis Tzanetos, representative of SYRIZA East Attica; Petros Mastrogiannis, President of the Nea Makri Merchants’ Association; Konstantinos Fokas, representative of the Rotary Club of Nea Makri–Marathon; Mr. Zaverdinos of the Friends of the Archaeological Museum of Marathon; Pisti Krystallidou, Secretary for Volunteering of New Democracy; as well as the volunteer teams SEDM, POEM, Vari, Milesi and EDOK.
The Operations Center is the heart of every operation. This is where information is gathered and assessed, forces are coordinated and volunteers in the field are supported. Timely and reliable information can make all the difference.
Our goal is for it to become one of the most modern operations centers run by a volunteer team.
Our heartfelt thanks to Humanity Greece, Georgia Paraschou and Bardos Wood.
Alliance, cooperation and mutual help build stronger Civil Protection.
The Center is open. Our vision has only just begun!
