On Wednesday, 7 October 2026, the Provalinthos Volunteer Fire Brigade (PYSETH) took part in responding to a fire at a storage facility, supporting the work of the Fire Service and the other forces that were mobilized.
Our team responded with the VOUTZAS 7 fire engine and three (3) volunteers, who took part in the operation.
At the same time, to maintain our operational readiness, a second fire engine, VOUTZAS 6, was crewed with three (3) more volunteers to cover our area of responsibility, while our Operations Center (KEPIX) was also activated to support coordination, information management and operational communications.
In total, eight (8) volunteers and two fire engines were mobilized, with parallel support from the Operations Center.
For us, responding to an incident is not only about the forces operating in the field. Keeping resources available, staying ready at all times and being able to respond immediately to any new need are just as important.
We would like to warmly thank the Hellenic Fire Service, as well as the neighboring volunteer teams, including the Volunteer Forest Protection and Firefighting Team of Ilioupoli (EODPI), for the excellent cooperation and joint operational effort.
Cooperation, mutual support and mutual respect among all the forces involved are the foundations of effective Civil Protection.
Because at every incident, whatever the emblem on our uniform, the goal remains the same: protecting human life, property and the natural environment.
